The dirty dozen are fruits and vegetables that the
Environmental Working Group from approximately 87,000 studies by the U.S.
Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration of the 47 fruits
and vegetables listed between 2000 and 2007. The fruits and vegetables
tested were the most commonly eaten. Some improved as the industry was
scrutinised like lettuce but pesticides on spinach were higher.
It is scary to think that there were 53 different pesticides found on
peaches, 50 on apples and 38 on strawberries. Fruit and Vegetables are
fundamental to good health and balanced diet and every person has the right
to know what they are eating. So when will the ingredients be written on the
side of the packet of strawberries, never!
